Last Saturday was the Special Olympics Metro Area Track and Field Event.
Lily did very well, 1 gold and 2 silver. More importantly she had a blast!
There was a drum line to start off the morning.
Ready to compete!
Checking out the situation.
There were cheerleaders to cheer the athletes on.
Gathering the team to walk in the opening parade of the athletes
Look at that gold medal form.
She had to wear her brothers shorts because she couldn’t find hers!
Lily’s friend from school. They competed against each other. They were so excited to see each other they didn’t care who won.
They gave it their all.

Go Lily! I found your blog via Pinterest and have been eagerly reading since then. I have a stepdaughter with Down Syndrome who just participated in her first Track & Field Qualifier (Special Olympics). She got a Silver in the softball toss and the 100m dash. Am so proud of her.
